A full day.

Today started bright and early. We were out the door by 7:15 this morning. We were privileged enough to spend time at an elementry school during their worship time-Wow, they worship sold out. The children give it all they have. It was a blessing to be there. We had one of the the Guatemalan teachers share his testimony with us. You'll have to ask the kids about Edgar when we return home.

Next we arrived at Chicoy, another elementry school that Impact opened. Our purpose was for children's ministry. We taught them a couple songs, played games, shared a skit, and made crowns as our craft. The Guatemalan children recevied us with arms wide open. There were welcome signs for us when we arrived, stating that we were a huge blessing to them- I know it went both ways. Most hug with huge squeezes that make you never want to let go. Their smiles are contageous.

After the children's ministry we had an amazing lunch prepared for us by Harm and Linda; then off to the work site (the soon to be new junior high and high school/medical centre. Our work project was to dig a trench to divert the natural water flow from the middle of the property to the side. Your kids worked incredibly hard. Rocky, the man in charge of the work site commented on the high level of team work and said it was refreshing to see. He commented on how great their attitudes were and that he is really enjoying working with them. The kids worked from 2 to 5; they moved a lot of dirt to fill a trench and level out an area of ground. They were great.

Upon our return to home base we were still without running water (it was shut off earlier today- a planned shut off to work on the pipes- it is still off. Needles to say everyone is sweaty and dirty and cant' wait for the water to come back on.

For supper we went to Les and Rita Peterson's home. They have a beautiful home that backs a stream and the mountain side. We were fed like queens and kings and then lounged in the huge back yard; it was great.

I think that's it for tonight; everyone here is doing well, some have a slightly more red complection then others, but on the whole are well and i believe will sleep sound tonight.

We look forward to a hospital visit tomorrow, more children's ministry at Chicoy school, and some site seeing and soccer later on in the day.
